Privacy policy

ticketsPlease is a Shopify app that lets stores sell dated tickets and check visitors in at the venue. It is operated by Agencia de Medios Forrate SpA («Forrate», «we»), a company registered in Chile. Contact: hola@forrate.cl.
1. Who is responsible for the data
For the personal data of a store's customers (the people who buy tickets and visit), the store is the controller and Forrate acts as a processor: we process that data only to provide the app, on the store's instructions and under the data processing terms in our Terms of service. For the data of the store and its staff, Forrate is the controller.
2. What we collect
From stores that install the app
- The store's Shopify domain, name, contact email, time zone, currency and brand (logo and color), read from Shopify.
- The app settings the store chooses: ticket types, daily capacity, dates, prices, and which visitor details to ask for.
- Staff accounts for the check-in screen: name, username and a hashed PIN (we never store the PIN itself).
From the store's customers (visitors)
- Always: first name, last name and email.
- Only if the store turns them on: phone, ID document number, nationality, age, gender, an emergency contact, and a medical condition or allergy. Each store decides which of these it needs.
- The ticket itself: visit date, ticket type, the Shopify order number and amount paid, and a QR code.
- Check-in records: when a ticket was used to enter or leave, and which staff member recorded it.
- Technical data: a one-way hash of the IP address, kept for a short time to limit abuse of the booking form.
We read Shopify orders only to issue, activate, cancel or refund tickets. We do not read products or orders that are not tickets sold through the app.
3. Why we use it
- To show available dates, hold capacity while a customer pays, issue one QR ticket per person and send or display it.
- To let the store's staff check visitors in and out, and see who is inside.
- To give the store reports and exports of its own sales and visitors.
- To bill the store through Shopify, provide support, keep the service secure and meet legal obligations.
We do not sell personal data, we do not use it for advertising or profiling, and we do not make automated decisions with legal or similar effects.
4. Where the data is stored and who processes it
| Provider | Purpose | Location |
| Shopify | Store platform, checkout and billing | Per Shopify's terms |
| Fly.io | Application servers | São Paulo, Brazil |
| Neon | Database (encrypted at rest) | São Paulo, Brazil (AWS) |
| Resend | Ticket emails, only if the store enables the app's own email | United States |
Data travels encrypted (HTTPS/TLS). Access is limited to Forrate personnel who need it to run and support the service.
5. How long we keep it
- Visitor data is kept for the period the store sets (24 months after the visit by default) and then deleted, keeping only anonymous counts.
- When Shopify asks us to delete a customer's data, we delete or anonymize it. If the visit has not happened yet, we anonymize it right after the visit.
- When a store uninstalls the app, Shopify asks us to erase the store's data 48 hours later and we delete it.
- Database backups expire after 7 days.
6. Rights
Visitors can ask the store they bought from to access, correct or delete their data. Stores receive these requests through Shopify and the app responds to them. You can also write to us at hola@forrate.cl and we will pass the request to the store or answer it if we are the controller. You may complain to your data protection authority.
7. Security incidents
If we detect a security incident that affects personal data, we notify the affected stores and Shopify without undue delay and within 72 hours, with what happened, what data is involved and what we are doing about it.
8. Cookies and local storage
The app does not use advertising or tracking cookies. The ticket page and the check-in screen store small items in the browser (a saved copy of the tickets for weak signal, the staff session, and screen preferences). This website does not use analytics cookies; it loads fonts from Google Fonts.
9. Changes
We will post changes to this policy on this page and update the date above. If a change is significant, we will notify stores in the app or by email.
- Siempre: nombre, apellido y correo.
